PD Dr. med.
Thomas Winder

Consultant for molecular oncology/precision medicine

Dr. Thomas Winder is our attending doctor for targeted cancer treatment and precision medicine. In close cooperation with highly qualified pathologists, a genetic analysis of a tumor and/or blood sample is performed. This allows the detection of individual genetic variations which can have a direct influence on your treatment and the side effects of your oncological therapy. When doing routine testing, the analysis is executed with already well established testing sequences. In a therapy-refractory setting, the testing procedure (one single gene sequence up to the whole genome) and the testing tissue is selected after careful analysis of the patients situation. The personalised, molecular results of the described genetic analysis are further combined with informations about the tumor localisation and individual patient characteristics. Based on all these results, an interdisciplinary molecular tumor board is then assembling your individualised therapy .
